High Key Portraiture Photography

High key photography uses bright lighting to blow out the background to complete white so that there is no definition left in the whites.
High key images usually convey a positive and upbeat feel. This method is perfect for subjects that are funny, lighthearted or beautiful and has become particularly common for family portraiture.
Shooting indoors in high key is not easy if you don’t have the proper equipment. We at Rutland Photo have all the necessary equipment to get the perfect high key results.
Mid to Low Key Portraiture Photography
Mid to low key photography however, uses dark backgrounds to get a completely different effect. Low key light accentuates the contours of the subject by throwing areas into shade while a fill light or reflector may illuminate the shadow areas to control contrast.
Mid to low key photography is particularly suited to black and white and can also give that Rembrant style to photo's.
